Author Interview: Arabella Maghri

I was lucky to get an interview with Arabella Maghri, who writes erotic fiction and has published five books including Stairway To Heaven.

Please, tell us a bit about yourself…
I’m a British businesswoman (I run my own international marketing agency) who loves to write erotic fantasy in my spare time. Some of it is pure fiction, some based on my own experiences.
I live near Cambridge, in the middle of England, but have some Middle Eastern heritage (a grandma from Haifa) which perhaps adds a little spice to my writing.
I have to juggle overseas business trips with keeping my readers happy. One recent reviewer was moved to write, "I truly believe that you are the Goddess of Love walking the earth amongst us mere mortals and sharing your Love with words.” How cool is that!
When not travelling I live with my long-term partner, Greg, and two cats.

Why should I buy your books?
To be transported to a world where you meet wonderful people… and make love with all of them!

...several couples have told me they like to read my stories to each other while in their most intimate moments. They tell me this has improved their love lives, so I recommend others to try this...
— Arabella Maghri

What got you into writing? And how long have you been doing it?
I love to share my thoughts and dreams, and my own experiences, with others. I’ve been writing for over 20 years in other genres, but only about 5 years in this one.

Why did you choose to write erotic fantasy?
I think we all need to escape everyday reality occasionally. They say you should write about what you know, so erotic fantasy seemed the obvious choice. Besides, I was bursting to tell my stories and turn others on too!

Subgenre: Erotic fantasy.

Pages: 176

Self-published: 2019

Which other author has had the biggest influence on your writing?
Both M.J. Marstens and Sally Berneathy, for their delicious writing styles.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
I write dialogue-rich stories, where the characters tell you what is happening, not the narrator. I like to make them hot and horny and humorous. And I write from the first person perspective, as these stories are about me, essentially.

What’s the hardest thing about being a writer?
Finding enough time to write and market my books. Like every author, I’d like all the world to read my work and love it! But I’m happy with the wonderful feedback I get from those who’ve discovered it so far.

I could not agree more!
Do you have any tips or an author app, tool, or resource that you can really recommend we try?
Never give up! Read what you love and dissect it to see how those authors make it work so well. Support other authors and they will support you. Share your thoughts on social media daily.

And now it's time to yank out your Palantir! Let’s talk about the future. What new projects are you working on?
I’m busy writing the third in my ‘Finishing School’ series, about teenager Mandy who is now at college… and getting into all sorts of sticky situations. I’m loving this trip down memory lane!

Do you expect new technologies to come along soon that will have a huge impact on self-publishing? For instance, when will we see a decent novel written by an AI author?
Not really expecting new tech to impact self-publishing very much, since huge changes have already happened over the past ten years. A great novel is a glimpse inside the human mind, not some formulaic product. I’m all for AI improving our lives, but for now, at least, I think human creativity will continue to drive great stories.

Do you have any dreams you’d like to share?
I dream of inspiring readers with warm thoughts and happy moments. Many tell me they enjoy release and fulfillment when engrossed in the steamier scenes I’ve written, and that is truly a joy. All authors hope to create an emotional response in their readers, so knowing someone has been moved to orgasm is the richest reward for my efforts.

Anything else you would like to say before we close?
Many readers choose to indulge themselves in private while reading, and that is perfectly understandable. But several couples have told me they like to read my stories to each other while in their most intimate moments. They tell me this has improved their love lives, so I recommend others to try this, if they can, and see where it leads them.

Thank you for doing the interview Arabella Maghri! I hope lots of readers discover your books, and that it improves their love lives.
